On Tuesday, October 30th, we took advantage of the clear(ish) skies and took four of our residents on a hike. People who do not live in the Pacific Northwest ask us how we deal with the rain and cloudiness… well, we just don’t let it stop us! It was not raining on this hike, but it was chilly and overcast and we donned raincoats just in case we got a little rain shower! The trail around Tiger Mountain took us through less-tread paths that were lined with moss, mushrooms, and covered by gorgeous, lush canopies. Marty Bradbury, our Maintenance Director, led the group through the wilderness for two hours, hiking a total of about 4 miles. Debbie Goeppele, our Wellness Nurse, made sure everyone fared well. At the end of our hike, we piled back onto the warm bus and munched on some boxed lunches provided by our head chef, Suzanne Parcells. During the hike, the residents even mentioned starting a monthly hiking group! Who knows, maybe that will be the next big thing to come out of Pacific Regent… stay tuned!
